30A - Final Reflection

The experience that I find most proud of is the fact that I was able to come up with an opportunity and make it into a company. I really thought I wasn't going to be able to come up with one because this class requires one in order to do the assignments and if you don't have one then you fail the class. My most joyous moment will be the people that I interview throughout the semester for my assignments because they helped me in ways they didn't know. Their feedback has helped me improved my company and let me know that this could work in the market. That's what kept me from changing ideas and preventing it from stopping it as well. One thing that I will remember is all the hard work you have to go through to start your own business and keep it alive in the market. It is not an easy thing to do for anybody.

I do feel like an entrepreneur to be honest. I mean I always have, I just didn't notice it. Now I feel even more like an entrepreneur because lately I have been wanting to open up my online business. The only thing stopping is money and the lack of more information. I think that as long as I have more information in how to start it and how to become successful in it then I will definitely do it. After everything I learned in the class my mindset is more like an entrepreneur for sure!

One recommendation I should give students that are coming down this path is to never give up. No matter how hard or how much work it is, keep going because at the end of the day you will not regret it. Good things come for those who put in work! To obtain a very good grade and preform at your best is to do everything on time and go all out. It is time consuming and a lot of work but you can manage it. Learn to do your assignments on time because the due date is very different compare to other classes I have taken in the past. To keep your mindset on this path remember where you are at. You're at the best college in the state of Florida and top ten in the nation for public universities! A school that is well known around the country. A school that is not easy to get accepted into and everyone knows it. So now that you are here do not stop, keep going and let others know why you are here!

29A - Venture Concept No.2

Opportunity - Having an opportunity to think of and make it a reality is hard but after putting so much thought into it, I finally came up with one. My opportunity is to help those people who are unhappy in any way and lead them back to the person they once were before that stage they are currently in. I believe that every adult and teenagers in the world has this need in one way or another. No one in this world is happy and no one will stay like that forever. But I also believe that they are certain people that need this need more than others. Those people are the ones who were in the military, the ones who feel left out, depress, but overall everyone needs it. The nature of the need is to help people become the person they once were before they were unhappy with themselves or their life in general. To forget about the past and think about the future and not anything ruin it for now on. To be happy and not worry about anything anymore. The forces that are driving this opportunity is the lack of help the people receive when they need it the most. Also the fact that these businesses are not helping them at all or it doesn't show progress within the clients. Most clients that I know or have interview in the past use varies things to help them out with their need. Some use drugs others use drinking as an escape. Other tend to do something they love to get their mind off of it. Some just like to be alone or be around friends or family. I believe this opportunity is very big because like I said before everyone need this. Because at one point everyone in the world will be unhappy for any particular reason. The window of opportunity is huge so it will be open until the person who came in for help feels like he or she doesn't need it anymore. If for some reason the person comes back and feels like he or she fell back into the position they once were then the window of opportunity will once again be open. So in other words this will be open forever.

Innovation - Unlike many business around the world everything starts with an idea that leads to a product later on (prototype). Once the beginning part of the business is done then the rest is history. My innovation is not a product at all or a prototype. Mine is more of a service to be exact with an exception of making money once the company gets going. It is very different compare to many other companies around the world. My service involves dogs. Now dogs are very important to many people around the world and most consider them as family. Dogs make everyone happy and that is what my service is about, helping people become happy again. So basically this service works like this. Someone comes to my company because they are unhappy. Me and my staff look at that and become aware of their situation and talk to them about to get more information about it. Like what are they going through, what have they done in the past to help themselves, etc. Once everything is now taken we then go ahead and tell the person how they can be help by coming to our company. How this company is different from others and how this company will truly help them in the situation they are in. We will organize them into a group in which everyone is going through the same thing as themselves. Why? So that they can see that they are not alone, that their is others involve in the same thing as them. That no matter what they are going through they will be help. We will put them into these groups so they can talk to others about their situation and help each other out in any way. That way they can keep coming back for more help and finally be the person they once were before they got unhappy. All with a dog beside them. We will have many dogs in our company so they can pick whichever one they want. One that meets their needs. They can have this dog for as long as they want, as long as they are in the facility. If they want to change the dog for another one then they can go ahead and do that as well. Again, everyone likes dogs and dogs make people happy. That is the difference between my service and others in involve in the same service. My service will be free of charge because why charge someone who you are trying to help?

Venture Concept - One of the reasons customers will want to switch and come to my company is because maybe the company they are at or buying from is not helping them at all. Like they do not see any progress within themselves or others as well. It will be really hard to have people switch from where they are to mine because they might feel like my company will not help either. That each company is the same and not one of them actually help at all. I honestly do not think I will have competitors because I have not found a company that offers the same thing as myself. Again, my company is free of charge so none of the packaging, price or anything else that involves money will matter (at first). All we want is for the customer to have a great experience and leave feeling great about themselves once again. To be honest I really do not know how many people I will need but I do know it will be a lot. As of right now I need people to take the role of the dogs, social media, the customers, phone lines and people that can help others with volunteer opportunities.

My secret sauce is the use of the dogs. Why? because the other companies I have seen or heard of do not provide something similar to this. All they do is talk to the customers when in reality there is much more than just that. My next part of the service is to give the customers the option to adopt the dog they are with. If that dog helped get over their unhappiness then why not take the dog with them? The next thing for me is to have this company well known around the world and not just locally. It doesn't matter how long it takes for that to happen.

Feedback - Based on the people I have told about my company, I gotten so really good feedback from them. The people said that overall it is a great opportunity I came up with since no one really helps other people nowadays. Especially when it comes to situation that I described. It will be great to have someone help their own community in any way possible. Based on the student feedback that I received, I should focus more on main market than what it is next. Just focus with the adults and not the kids. They said that kids are more difficult to handle which is true in my opinion. Kids also are not independent either and tend to play really hard with dogs when they are really young. Also make a little different so that I can make money and not just help. I deserve something from helping other than my time and effort. I also need to know how many people I actually need for my company because it can affect me later on. 

Based on the feedback that I received I didn't really changed or deleted anything. I kept it the same for the majority of the part but I did add some things. I included that my market should only be targeted to adults and teenagers that are becoming adults. Also that at first my service will be free and as time goes and people progress then I will charge them just to have something in return. Just to have something in return other than my time and effort. Plus its a business so you want money to keep going and expanding. 

28A - Your Exit Strategy

I do not tend to sell my business within five years because most likely my business will not be big yet. It is still growing and not at the point where I want to be in. I also do not plan to retire at my business because I want to try something new in life and see how I can manage my new investment. I want to find out how better I gotten with all the information and experience I have gotten and compare it to my new investment. Of course I would love to pass down the torch to my family to keep the legacy going but that's up to them. I can't really force them too. I want to do in life is teach others how to be successful. I want to see others be successful as myself. That's what makes me happy knowing that I was to help others.

As you can see I didn't really choose an exit strategy, I just answer all the questions given to me. But my true exit strategy is to help, that's all and of course try something new but mainly help. Help people become successful like myself and give back as well. Good things come to those help others in life.

I think my exit strategy has influenced my other decisions in my concept because you always have to stay a step ahead of the game. As you an entrepreneur you always have to think about what's next and how it can benefit you. If you know that you're going to leave then don't think about it to much. Just keep doing what you're doing and ask yourself how you can leave a mark so that others can remember you!

27A - Reading Reflection No.3

The general theme of the book "Thinking, fast and slow" is that the their is two systems when it comes to judgement and choice according to the author. The first system is fast while the second system is slower. Again the first one is fast, like fast thinking which is done automatically. Thinking is done with no effort and with no feeling of control. This type of thinking influences most of your choices and judgements. A perfect example is "4+4". The second system is a lot slower and its also a lot different. It is basically the opposite of the first system. You tend to do more thinking that is more complex and draining for your brain. It takes more concentration of the person to process thought in anything.

I feel like this book connected to ENT 3003 because in order to be a successful entrepreneur you have to think. Think about what is good for you and the company you have. Some are fast and easy choices while others are more complicated which require more thinking from yourself. Thinking is one of the keys in my opinion to be successful as an entrepreneur because you can easily make mistakes if you don't process everything correctly.

This is a tough one but I will make an exercise that involves something with the brain. An exercise that will trigger your brain to think and see how your brain works. How differently it works with different obstacles. I want to see what you makes you think fast and slow. Not only that but also compare that to others to see how different you are from others.

I think my biggest 'aha' moment is the fact that this book is more about psychology and the process of thought. This is a book for those who are interested in this area. This book has nothing to do with business in any way so that's why it was a surprise moment for me because it didn't make sense. Why is this book in the reading list? I soon realize why though because in business you have to think and thinking correctly is a huge key to success not only in business but in life!

26A - Celebrating Failure

This semester I have experience failure not once but twice! It all came with the first exam... I was super confident because I have done the practice exams varies times and the learner smarts as well. All that was for nothing because when it was time to take the exam, the exam was nothing like I had saw in the practice exams and learner smarts. It was something totally different but I at least I tried to get a good grade. It didn't go as plan but its okay since we do have two more exams to do. The next exam comes and this time I try to look for a different way of studying. I still did not do good either. Now I have no idea what to do for my next exam other than to study even more than I have done in the past with a little bit of a change to see if that will help. If anyone has tips then please let me know what you guys do to prepare for the exams. (management 3025)

I learned that no matter how hard you tried or how much you study that sometimes you won't succeed in anything. Everything takes time and effort from yourself. But like they said the third one is always the charm! I just have to try something new again and hope for the best. A different approach with a new and better strategy.

I really don't think failing at something is really embarrassing at all. It just means that you did something wrong along the way or that the other has a better plan than you. All you need to do is look at what you did wrong and fix it. Make it better than before so you won't make the same mistake twice. I handle failure in a good way unlike others. Most people get mad or sad. I mean I do get sad but only for a few seconds then I'm just like screw it, it is what it is. Next time I got this. I literally forget about it and move on with my life because you think about it to much then it is going to affect you. Just forget about it and move on, accept the failure. It's only going to make you stronger in the end, remember that!

25A - What's Next?

Existing market - Like I said before my next part of my service is to give the customers I am helping the ability to adopt the dogs they are with on the daily. These customers come everyday to my company for help on how to become the person they once were, being happy. One thing that helps them through that process is the dogs. Having dogs around help you out a lot and make you feel happy in many ways. So why break that bond up?

After doing some more interviews with people about my company, I've come to realize that I have more to think about. I have way more options than just letting people have the option to adopt. I need to think about it more now that I have more options and consider which one is the best for my business. Or what I can do is try each option out and see which one works best for me and the future of the company.
One of the people I interview said that I should let the customers check out the dogs like a book at a library. That is not such a bad idea but I'm not sure how that will work or if it will work out. Its something I have to consider like I said before. Another person said to leave it the way it is because you might lose track of how many dogs you have in the facility. The less dogs you have the less options people have for a dog they actually think will help. Not every person can share the dog because some might want the dog longer than others. This can cause problems in so many ways. My interviewee said to do both of them and that might work but there is only one way to find out.

New market - I think the new market that I will target will be kids from a young age to the age of 18. I never thought about this at all until now. I only focused on adults but kids are important as well. They go through the same thing as well but in a different way. It will be really interesting how that will go.

Again, this new market will be very interesting for me. So what I decided to do was interview both a parent and a non parent just to see what the results will be. To my surprise they both said similar responses. I didn't see that coming at all.
During my time I had with the interviewees I learned many new things that I kind of new in some ways. My first interviewee who is a parent said that it will be a great idea to focus on kids because a lot them go through many things that most people don't know. Without help then tend to keep that within themselves for a lot time and this can ruin their future in some ways. The reason this interviewee said this was because her parents went through a divorce and she loved both of them and obliviously didn't want to happen. This affected her from a very young age but she was able to bounce back because she was help unlike others who have no help at all. My other interviewee said pretty much the same thing but at the same time he thinks it will not work out. That kids are very different from adults in many ways and that they do not know much since they are very young.
