19A - Idea Napkin No.2

  1. Hello once again, my name is Hugo. I recently got accepted into UF over the summer so this is my first official semester as a Gator! I am a online transfer student looking to move to the campus one day and experience the life of a college student at UF. I see this business as a help to the people who are at a stage where they feel like they have no help to resolve their problems of being unhappy. The way to do that is with the help of dogs. Everyone loves dogs and they can help us with emotions.
  2. My business is not a product more of a service. A service that will help people with their emotions (unhappy). To meet with dogs they like and spend time with them to regain that happiness they once had.
  3. I am offering this service to everyone that is not happy at the moment or something similar along those lines. I think people who were in the military or those who are going through a really bad moment (school, work, relationships, etc) will benefit the most.
  4. I think people will pay me because when you're sad or unhappy then you'll do anything to be that person you once were. This will help in many ways and my company will do anything to help you out no matter what you're going through.
  5. I believe that this is something new that has never been introduce to the world. The difference between me and other companies is that I am introducing a whole new way of helping people with being unhappy by having dogs around them. Most companies just meet and talk with the person or leave them alone for awhile. Not in my case, we talk and interact with having dogs by our side to improve our goal.
I believe that these elements do fit together in one way or another. However, I do feel like their is a weakness in my company. I'm not 100% sure it will help everyone in the world because they are some people that you just can't help no matter how hard you try. Another thing is what if they like dogs or are allergic, how can I help them?

For the feedback that I received, I notice that it will probably not work for everyone so I mention in my idea that will help specific people but at the same time everyone as well. The other was the type of dogs that can help the customers. So I am offering them all dogs and they choose which one they like the most.

17A - Elevator Pitch No. 2

I'm going to be honest, I didn't receive any feedback. I really don't know why but it's okay. I should of sent it to the professor to get feedback but next time and hopefully this time it is different from last time. One thing I did change from my last pitch was that I had objects to show for the video. Since I am doing it on soccer then I brought it in jerseys and a soccer ball for the video to present and show the audience what my company offers. Something different unlike my last pitch video.

18A - Create A Customer Avatar

My avatar has many hobbies in his life but the one that he likes the most is sports, mainly soccer. He loves to play sports even if he is not good at them. As long as he is playing with friends and family then he is happy. My avatar tends to drive a car that is more newer compare to other college students. The car is from 2015. It is not new or used, it is pre-owed that is certified and only one person has driven that car in the past. The car was personal and now it is owned by my avatar. He likes Dodge so he went with a charger. His car white and black with black rims, really nice car. He doesn't tend to watch TV that much unless it is to play video games on the PlayStation 4. No children since he is a college student still. He is not thinking about that at the moment since he wants to finish college first. Once he starts his career then that will come into play. He hates reading so he obviously doesn't have a favorite book to read. He is currently 22 years old about to be 23 in a month or so. He is very nice until you do something to get him mad but that rarely happens. He loves to workout but lately he hasn't because of school and work so he gained some weight (a little). Alright.. who am I kidding, the dude got fat (laugh out loud). It looks like he has a beer belly to be honest but not really. The one thing that is really wants in life is to be rich. He has money already but he wants more than what he has. He his also smart as well, like really smart. Always smiling too.
I have many things in common with this avatar from sports to intelligence to working out and more. But I don't think it is a coincidence because I feel like this is every college student. This is the way they live from what I know. It would of been different if it someone from somewhere else with a different age and a totally different way of living compare to college students. Most college students have something if not more in common with other college students.

16A - What's Your Secret Sauce?

My five ways of human capital:

  • Competitive - I am very competitive when it comes to certain things in life, like soccer for example. It also depends on who my opponent is, whether it is in life, soccer, or work.
  • Helpful - I am very helpful when it comes to my friends and family members. I don't care who you are or how long we known each other, I will help you if you need it. I don't others making the same mistake as myself, I want them to be successful as well.
  • Fast learner/worker - Whatever I learn in life, work or school I tend to get stuck in my head super fast. It takes me a day or two (the most) to learn new things. Once I learn them, I work faster than before and get things done to the point where I have nothing to do at times.
  • Reliable - I am the type of person you can rely on whatever the case is. I am someone you can trust.
  • Great communicator - One of great capabilities is being a great communicator. I response super fast, most likely within a few seconds or minutes (the most).
Interviews:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wR-x2SfFR8M&t=2s
One key takeaway I learn from this interview is that I forgot my five main human capital. I said something very different, not all of them of course.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=So_LttSGFKg
One thing I learned from this interview is that it was similar to the previous one. This person also said that I was very helpful, something that I can say it's true.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TTj7fFVstHc
One key takeaway from this interview is that he said I'm a good communicator but he related it to soccer. In my head, being a good communicator is involved in work and maybe school. I never thought it would be use in sports.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DD2DKwKWp5o
One key takeaway from this person is that he said I have been there from the beginning (day one). I'm assuming that can fall under being a reliable person. I should have asked afterwards but I forgot.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7xllPaib4aw
One key takeaway I learned from this interview is that this time they included motivator as one of my five human capital. Something new from what others have said but he also said the word "helpful" again. It seems to me that being helpful is a key for myself.

Based on my interviews from my interviewees I see myself very similar to what they said, for the most part. I really do not think I am any different from what the interviewees said about me. I mean they know me so well, some them have known me since we were in diapers and others just recently but they know who I am as a person. I feel like they are correct when it comes to one my human capital's that I mention, which is being helpful. They are also correct when it comes to the other human capital's as well but the one about being helpful is very true. The only correction I would change is the fast learner/worker because I feel like this wasn't mention to often. It could be because everyone I interview related the answers to soccer, school and life but not work. If I would of known then I would of put something else instead.

15A - Figuring Out Buyer Behavior No.2

For part 1 of figuring out buyer behavior I decided to do my segment on college students and I continue that segment for this next part.  After interviewing these three new interviewees I found out many new things about my service that I didn't know before. All three of my interviewees said that the price does matter when it comes to buying a product but since mine is a service, the price doesn't matter (obviously). Now mine is a service but they still said that factors are important when choosing a dog of their unmet need of being unhappy. What they look in a dog is type of breed, big or small, energy and many other factors. I mean that is very important since they are the ones that need the dog to help them with their problems based on what they are going through. Since my service involves dogs, the interviewees said that they need to be buying in person but mine is a service and not an actual product (remember). That is another important part of their factor. Again, since mine is a service their is no money involved for the customers. Based on my interviewees, the thing that matters the most for them when it comes to my service is if it really worked for them. Did it help them and will it continue to work in the future for themselves and others like them. Is it something they would do again and if so, they will let others know that this service really works for people. After interviewing my three interviewees some of them pointed out about letting people take the dogs home and elsewhere instead of just being at one location the entire time. I didn't think of that at all. That will be great but if I were to do that then money would be involved and I'm not sure the people will like that. The only way to find out is to test it out for a short time and get feedback from the customers.

13A - Reading Reflection No. 1

  1. The thing that surprised me the most was that he lean $27 dollars to 42 women. That's a lot money if you ask me even though it's only $27 dollars. That $27 dollars adds up at the end of the day.
  2. The thing that I admire the most is the fact that he started to help the poor and eliminate poverty in his country. Not many people that in the world, especially if they had the money to do so.
  3. Their is one thing that I do not admire from the entrepreneur and that is that he focuses more on women than men when it comes to poverty. Don't get me wrong, it's nice helping out women because throughout the whole world no one actually pays attention to women but it's poverty that we are talking about. I would give the same amount of attention and money to men as well. Be equal with everyone in the country.
  4. The only failure I can think of is when he was removed from his own bank, Grameen Bank.
  5. One competencies that really stood out from him is his leadership role. He took on a challenge and became the leader with out never backing down from it.
  6. The only confusing part of the book was why did he do it? Why did he help out the poor? What told him to do this? Did he feel bad about the poor? I feel like he just started helping them out but with no explanation in my opinion or I probably just didn't understood it very well.
  7. Two questions I would ask the entrepreneur is what motivated him to do this and how to be successful in what you invest? The only reason I would ask these questions is because everyone has a purpose to start being entrepreneur and investing into something and how to make it in the world. Like what are the secrets behind it and becoming so known and successful.

14A - Halfway Reflection

1 - One behavior I have used/develop is time. Time is very important in this class because like people say "time goes by fast" and it's true. If you do not use time wisely then the class will go down hill for you. Learning how to use your time in this class will benefit you in the long run. I learned to do my assignments with time because time can sneak up on you if you're not focus. It was about how fast and accurate I can do my assignments with the time I had. You have to prepare yourself at least a week before the actual assignments are due. So this is when time comes in handy because it lets you know when to do your assignments and how far ahead you have to do it before the due date.

2 - I'm going to be honest, I always feel like giving up (lol). I feel like giving up while doing this assignment right now (lol). The only reason I'm pulling through is because I want a degree. I want to be someone in life. My parents never had the opportunity to go to college. I'm doing this for them and not just myself. I feel like I have develop a tenacious attitude during these past two months because of the assignments that require interviews. Why? because these interviews require a lot of your time and if you do it then you get a zero for the assignment. Most of the assignments require interviews and not doing them will lower your grade.

3 - A. Use your time wisely because time goes by very fast. If you are able to do the assignments early then do it. Do not wait until the last minute to do it!
B. Have a strong energy towards the class. Do not tell yourself to give up or to not do a certain assignment. Do it because it will make you happy at the end of the week.
C. Listen very closely and pay attention to the class lectures for the cupcakes at the end of the week. Have a strong memory because the cupcakes are based off the lectures.

12A - Figuring Out Buyer Behavior No.1

Pick a segment - I decided to choose college students at SCF/USF as my segment. I chose this segment because as a college student myself, students go through a lot. Being here will be easy for me to find people to interview since I'm pretty sure they fit in my unmet need. One of them happens to be in the military. The second interviewee is student at USF and lives in Parrish. The third one is just a normal college student, his first semester at SCF.

Interviews - When I first began to search potential candidates for the interviews, I didn't think it would be hard to find these people but I was wrong. I had to go the extra mile to obtain these interviews. Based on my interviewees the majority of them say that the unmet need of being unhappy usually happens at night. A place where you are all alone with no one near by at all. In a quiet dark place, sometimes this place happens to be outside of home. The situation is always like this and it happens a lot since most of them are alone most of the times because of their life style. The only reason is happens because they start to think about the past or something that is happening right now. This is due to past relationships, the place they are living in and many other things that come into place. Every once in awhile the unmet need happens because of certain songs, places and memories that happen before or in the present time. When the unmet need happens one of the interviewees happens to drink to help themselves out, the other one talks to a friend(s) but not family, and the last one does homework/listen to music to get over it.

What I learned - Based on my interviews and asking them about my service to help people that are in the same situation as them surprised me. Two of them said that the service is great and would be great to be involved in but that it won't work out to their opinion. Because it seems point less to be around dogs, that it is fun being around them but it won't take their minds off of being unhappy for a long time. It will only work for a certain amount of time. They will not pay for the services unless they knew that it will work for them in the long run. The other interviewee said it will help and that he is willing to pay for the service because he wants to try something new that he never had done before.

Conclusion - When I chose this segment I thought everyone would had the unmet need but I wrong. I guess everyone is different in their own way. The people that do have the unmet need, well some of them are willing to pay for the service that I will provide because they want to try something new. Others won't due to the fact it might not work.

11A - Idea Napkin No.1

1 - Hello, my name is Hugo. I recently got accepted to UF so this is my first semester at the University. I am an online student looking to move to the campus within the next year. I am majoring in Business Administration with a Bachelor's of Science degree, might change it to Arts degree (not sure yet). My talent is the ability to help people that really need help. Someone who has no one to help them out. It could be any situation, personal or not. This business will play a big part in my life because I would be the main person involved in everything. I will be important to everyone who needs help.

2 - I am not offering a product but a type of service to the people that need help with being unhappy. My service is to meet with dogs and spend some time with them to regain that happiness they once had. By doing this everyday or whenever someone needs it then it will help them out with whatever they are going through that is making them unhappy. The majority of people love dogs and that will help in many ways.

3 - I am offering this service to everyone who is unhappy with something in their life. But everyone is different and have different problems that make them unhappy. So I will split everyone into groups that have the same problem and give them a dog to be around. That way the people that have the same problem can interact and talk to each other to help one another.

4 - I think people will pay me because when you need help you'll do anything. Especially if you're unhappy and have no one to turn too. This is a serious issue that needs to be warn about to others and it needs attention. This is a huge problem for the majority of the people. It will help them in any many ways with happiness being the number goal.

5 - From what I know, their is no one that has competition with my business.

I do believe that their is a weakness in my company. The weakness is time and the people involved in this. How long will this work for? Will it work for everyone? The only reason this is a weakness is because not everyone can be helped, some people just cannot be helped no matter how hard you try. Also, the people who will be helped will probably go back to square one and the process has to start all over again. That's why I wonder if this will work in the long run.
